Salary: Anticipated $78,000+, Based on Qualifications

Dependent upon experience and education. Annual pay calculation based on average 84-hour pay period; overtime is not guaranteed.

Up to $15,000.00 Sign-On Bonus 

​

  • Certified with at least ONE YEAR of experience: $10,000.  (PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS:   $5,000 paid in the first check and $5,000 after one year.)

 

  • Certified with at least THREE YEARS of experience: $15,000 

       (PAID IN 3 INSTALLMENTS: 

  • $5,000 paid on the same date as the employee's first paycheck. 

  • Additional $5,000 paid upon completion of introductory period, including extensions, but no earlier than one year from date of hire.

  • Final $5,000 paid upon completion of two years from date of hire.)

Career Opportunities: Multiple training opportunities will be available to Detention Center Staff, including initial jailer certification through the State for non-certified staff. For certified staff, training opportunities including in-house options and specialized classes will be available.

​

Information about transitioning to a career in law enforcement will be available for those certified jail staff

who are interested and have satisfied the time and hiring criteria required to join the Alpharetta Police Department.

NOTE: Staffing and compensation for the Detention Division are contingent upon budget approval by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Alpharetta. Conditional offers of employment will be extended only upon formal adoption of the Detention Division budget.
